File Preview
Preview uploaded files directly in the Documents app without leaving your browser.
When you open an uploaded file (rather than an editor document), the center panel displays a built-in viewer instead of the rich text editor. The type of viewer depends on the file format.
PDF Preview
PDF files open in a native browser viewer embedded in an iframe. You can:
- Scroll through pages
- Zoom in and out
- Use your browser's built-in PDF search
- Print directly from the viewer
Image Preview
Image files (JPG, PNG, GIF, SVG, WEBP) display the full image in the center panel. Features include:
- Full-size image display
- Zoom controls for examining details
- Support for animated GIFs
Video Preview
Video files (MP4, MOV, AVI, WEBM) open in a native HTML5 video player with standard controls:
- Play/pause
- Volume control
- Fullscreen mode
- Seek bar for navigation
Other File Types
For file types without a built-in viewer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ZIP, etc.), a file information card is displayed with the file name, type, and size. Use the download button to open these files in their native application.
Download Button
A Download button is available for all file types, allowing you to save any file to your computer regardless of whether a preview is available.
Properties Panel
The right panel continues to show the same details as for editor documents:
| Tab | Contents |
|---|---|
| Comments & Issues | Linked issues and inline comments |
| Properties | Document metadata, owner, dates, version history, and tags |
| Related | Cross-references to issues, meetings, and milestones |
You can edit properties, add tags, link to project items, and view version history for uploaded files just as you would for editor documents.
