Tips for Effective Communication

Organize with Channels

Create channels for specific purposes rather than using direct messages for group discussions:

  • Project channels - Keep all project communication in one place
  • Team channels - Departmental updates and coordination
  • Topic channels - Discussions around specific subjects (e.g., "Design Reviews")

Use Descriptive Channel Names

Choose clear, searchable names that help team members find the right channel quickly.

Keep Conversations Focused

Use the appropriate channel for each topic. This makes searching easier and keeps discussions organized.

Check Unread Messages Regularly

The badge count in the header shows total unread messages. Click through conversations to stay current with team discussions.
